All sex is automatically assumed to be rape unless proven otherwise. 

This is a fucking bizarre dogma. 

Peeps in the US whipped themselves into an hysterical frenzy over mythical sex predators raping their children and lurking around every corner ready to pounce on their next sweet innocent victim. Hansen and Walsh got rich as hell terrifying American parents. Our whole society is an emotional basket case ever since.

The fact that I understand the phenomenon doesn't make it any less horrible.

It's a taboo. Taboos are enforced by ostracizing anyone in the tribe who violates the taboo. Taboos don't have to be rational. The thing isn't just bad. It is unthinkable. Anyone who questions the taboo is thinking about the unthinkable. They are secretly wanting or planning to violate the taboo, and so must be ostracized too.

This is the kind of obnoxious bigotry young adults aged 14-18 face every day. 

Why do we tolerate assholes openly hating on this demographic?

Every Nazi on the planet is a vile racist fascist dirtbag by choice.

Not one pedo on earth chose to be a pedo. None of them want to suffer from that affliction.

Social change doesn't work like that. 

Dr Robert Epstein does a great job of diagnosing the problem. He clearly describes what's happening and explains why it's bad. He fails however to give a practical prescription for fixing the malady. 

In his interview with Tom Woods he says straight out that we need to wipe the slate clean and start from scratch. This will obviously never happen. 

I believe, however, that we can make real change. We can push back, fight hard, and reverse the trend. The specifics will be debated forever. But the principles need to be acknowledged and upheld.

Did you know that the vast majority of sexual assault of teenagers is committed by other teenagers?

They are the perps of sex crime just as often as they are the victims.

These are not sweet little innocent angels. They are completely normal adults forced to live in a bizarre purgatory where they get treated like children most of the time.

We let 17 year olds join the US Army. We let 16 year olds drive cars. We let 12 year olds babysit. Teenagers do tons of things that are far more dangerous than sex.

We know damned well they have perfectly good brains, we all know they can have sex safely. We are just irrational as fuck, fearing instead of thinking.

being 10 or 20 years older does not give anyone magic brainwashing powers.

People get manipulated by people older and younger than them. They are taken advantage of by people of the same age too. Age is nowhere near the deciding factor here.

The age of consent in Portugal is 14. They don't have any of the theoretical problems you say would happen if we let 17 year olds control their own bodies.

Portugal is not an exception. Plenty of countries respect teens' bodily autonomy. We need no hypotheticals. We have real world examples of low ages of consent working very well.
