ALL of the rhetoric around young adults and sex in the USA is totally insane. It is the pure hysterical emotional reactions of people who have consumed tens of thousands of hours of fear-mongering on TV. No one is able to think rationally at all any more. No one even wants to.

We have 8 billion people on a planet that cannot sustain that many. Soon we'll have 12 billion. If global sperm count fell by 90% there's still literally zero chance of us running out of people.
